The Spreebogen Competition in Berlin in 1993 was one of the most important urbanistic opportunities of the end of the century. The old Platz der Republic in front of the Raichstag was the central space of the design. The new buildings of the various branches of the government were placed in such a way as not to block the view of the Spreebogen and allow free access to the water front.
